Meet Our Founder

Christopher E. Bruce is an attorney, advocate, and strategist committed to advancing civil rights, social justice, and community empowerment. As the Founder and Principal of Common Ground Strategy Group, Christopher leads efforts to unite diverse voices and drive effective policy, advocacy, and strategic initiatives across the South.

In addition to his work at CGSG, Christopher serves as Policy and Advocacy Director for the ACLU of Georgia and Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Southern Collective of the ACLU, where he amplifies regional efforts for equity and systemic change. He is also President of the Gate City Bar Association, Georgia’s oldest African American bar association, leading with a vision rooted in innovation, collaboration, and service.

Christopher’s career spans legal practice, political consulting, and community leadership. He is the founder of The Bruce Firm, LLC, and the creator of the Southern Legal Internship Program (SLIP), a mentorship pipeline advancing diversity in the legal field. His previous experience includes serving as Deputy Campaign Manager for a major Georgia judicial race, Special Assistant to an Atlanta mayoral candidate, prosecutor in DeKalb County, and counsel at an insurance defense firm.

A proud graduate of Georgia State University (cum laude) and the University of Georgia School of Law, Christopher has been recognized with numerous honors, including Outstanding Atlanta and 40 Under 40 awards from both of his alma maters. He actively serves on the boards of Hands On Atlanta and Georgia State University Honors College and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
